Looking for a gym in Tunbridge Wells? There are actually a lot of choices! But what are the best Tunbridge Wells gyms?
I’m a big fan of working out and going to the gym. I’ve been to most of the gym in Tunbridge Wells – or at least know friends who go to them.
The Best Tunbridge Wells Gyms
In my opinion, these are the best five gyms in Tunbridge Wells…
- Underground Gym
- Halo Gym
- Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre
- Nuffield Health
1. Underground Gym
Underground Gym opened in Tunbridge Wells in November 2018. I know because I went along during their opening week with some friends.
It’s an amazing gym. Huge. And it’s got everything you could possibly want – and more! The only reason I’m not a member is that it’s 2.5 miles away from where I live and I really don’t want to have to drive to the gym.
The basic gym membership is £39.95 per month. If you want to attend their fitness or specialist classes you have to pay a bit more.
I’ve been a member of PureGym ever since I moved to Tunbridge Wells in 2016. It’s definitely the best budget gym in Tunbridge Wells and it’s right in the middle of town.
PureGym is split over three floors. The top floor is mainly cardio (treadmills, bikes, etc.). The ground floor is where you’ll find free weights and machines. And the basement is where they do most of the classes.
I’ve never done any of the classes but they’re all included, even with the basic “Core” membership – which is just £19.99!
3. Halo Gym
Before Underground Gym opened in Tunbridge Wells, Halo Gym was the place to be for the serious gym-goer.
It’s been designed for those who prefer a more personal approach (unlike somewhere like PureGym, where you’re left to your own devices). So, whether you’re looking to lose weight, get fitter, become stronger, or bulk up, you’ll find the help you need at Halo Gym.
Membership is £55 per month – but included in that are things like a free bespoke training programme, monthly training reviews and access to staff whenever you’re in the gym.
4. Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre
Located in between St John’s and Southborough is Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre.
It certainly doesn’t have the best gym in Tunbridge Wells but included in your monthly membership is free/unlimited access to the swimming pool and all of their exercise classes, plus 2 hours of tennis, squash, badminton or table tennis per week.
A monthly individual membership is £49.95 – but you can save a bit of money with a 12-month membership.
5. Nuffield Health
At an eye-watering £82 per month (for a rolling membership), Nuffield is the most expensive gym in Tunbridge Wells!
I haven’t actually been to Nuffield Tunbridge Wells myself. I hear it’s nice enough, but nothing special. It does have a swimming pool and sauna/steam room – but I don’t think I’d use either of those that often.
You’re definitely going to want to check it out for yourself before committing to a membership. Fortunately, they offer a free pass. But I’m guessing they try and convince you to join before you leave.
